Dear Oliver-
A year and a half! You are my little buddy. You are darling and you have a huge personality. You are learning so much every day. I think I say this all the time but you are turning more into a little boy now, and becoming less of a baby.
You have taken on the role of big brother nicely. You are very nice to your sister. You say "goo" and "hey" to her, and lean in for kisses and cuddles without being told to. You are very gentle and like to rub her head.
Elmo has become your new favorite show. Its actually the only show you will watch-which is fine with me, I'm hoping not to raise a TV addict! You watch Elmo every morning when Dad leaves for work. You love any type of vehicle, but especially trucks, helicopters, and trains.
You have a new found love for books. You used to only like a couple books but now you like to pull all of your books off the shelves and will sit still while I read them to you. You get obsessed with certain books for a few days then move onto different ones. Right now you request Little Pea-you say it so cute.
You love to have me sing to you. Your favorite songs are The Wheels on the Bus, Here's the Ball for Baby, and Twinkle Twinkle-which you call "how I." Its funny those are the words that stood out to you when you heard that song. Now any star you see is a "how I."
It amazes me how quickly you pick up on things and learn things. When someone asks you how old you are, you hold up one finger on both hands and say "ONE!" You are starting to become interested in letters and numbers. When you see them, you recognize that they are letters or numbers, but right now they are all 1 and 2 to you. You know so many animals and the sounds they make. Your favorite animals right now are lions and cows.
You love puckering up your lips and giving big kisses. You still love your "night nights" and your binky, and I am sad that we will be taking it away from you soon. You copy everything and anything we say-one day we were driving and I called Dad a psycho, and from the back seat we heard your voice say "psycho!" Looks like we need to be careful what we say around you now!
I love you baby boy-stay little a while longer ok??
-Mama

A very belated congrats on the safe arrival of Alice. What a sweet baby and beautiful name. I was so thrilled to hear that bedrest was worth every daunting moment to have her arrive on time. How do you survive having a newborn and a 18 month old. That amazes me. Reading about Oliver at 18 months makes me excited for the days ahead even thought 5 months seems pretty perfect these days. Thank goodness it just gets better and better!.
It seems so crazy to me that he is just now 18months! I always think Oli is older than he is! He is so cute and is looking so different now! He is turning into a little boy! That is so cute about calling stars (and the song) "how I". Leah calls it "up above the". So funny how they pick out certain words! I know I say this every time, but I wish we saw more of eachother! Thank goodness for social media that helps us still feel connected anyway, eh? :) xoxo
Stay little Oliver! You are such a sweet and hilarious little boy - I love you!
